Build Better, Build Smarter Program in Hailey, Idaho
September 23, 2010Hailey, Idaho Just Got A Little Prettier
October 2, 2010Back in 1996, representatives from several Boards of REALTORS from major destination resort areas got together to compare notes. The realization was that real estate practitioners share a common bond and that is that marketing and selling resort real estate is much different than selling real estate in traditional markets. Buyers and sellers have much different expectations and goals and are seeking specialists within their desired market. With that concept in mind, The Western Mountain Resort Alliance was formed.
Often, buyers of resort real estate compare different areas before choosing one over the other. The Alliance allows members of the different boards of REALTORS to share sales information and discuss important issues that are commonly faced by the resort communities. We gain a better understanding of our resort by understanding other resorts. The Alliance began with six boards of REALTORS and is now comprised of thirteen boards from six states. Member boards include Sun Valley, Park City, Jackson Hole, Crested Butte, Steamboat, Vail and Telluride.
The goal of the Western Mountain Resort Alliance is to create awareness among local real estate agent through their local Board of Realtors about the workings of other resort communities that helps us to see the big picture and understand common issues. The result has served to increased our local and broader market knowledge and hopefully provided a better level of service to our buyers and sellers.
