The Western Mountain Resort Alliance
September 30, 2010Welcome to Fall in Sun Valley, Idaho
October 4, 2010Thanks to the talents of local artist, Tom Teitge, Hailey, Idaho is the proud benefactor of a brand new mural. The mural is located on the southern wall of the PM Brown building at 221 River Street in Hailey. Standing approximately 16 feet high by 12 feet wide, the mural depicts a shapely woman wielding a sledgehammer over an anvil. She is in the process of smashing a sword and bending it into the shape of a farming plow. The quote at the bottom of the mural reads “Swords into Plowshares.”
I think its a great addition to the visual landscape in Hailey. It does a great job of dressing up a large cinder block wall and serves as a great foreground for the great views of Carbonate Mountain in the background. Hopefully, this will lead to more community interest in other art related projects throughout the city of Hailey.
