One way I usually feel a little better about that third piece of pie on Thanksgiving is to head over to the annual Hailey Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run on Thanksgiving morning. Daryl Fauth from Blaine County Title has been putting on the event for 7 years now. Way to go Daryl! It’s a really fun community event and the turn out is becoming more and more impressive every year. Last year the Trot attracted about 500 participants.
Just head over to the Community Campus in Hailey at the crack of 10AM on Thanksgiving morning for the start. Be sure to bring the kids, strollers, dogs and your free Turkey Trot beanie from last years race. Its a great chance to see 500 of your best friends out on the streets of Hailey and get a little exercise at the same time. Plus, it’s a guaranteed guilt reducer for the feeding frenzy later in the day.
The course winds around Deerfield, Foxmore and Curtis Sub and then down the bike path and back to the finish. They have hot chocolate and coffee at the start for everyone which is great because the run goes off rain or shine.
See you there!
