Buckle up—it’s July in Sun Valley! Summer in this mountain town is so full of events, arts, and adventures that it can be overwhelming. But don’t worry, when you need a break, head to Redfish Lake for a weekend along its beautiful shores, or plan a long, leisurely brunch at Galena Lodge.

Here are a few of our favorite things to do in Sun Valley in July.
Days of the Old West Celebration
The 4th of July holiday is the unofficial kickoff to summer in Sun Valley, and we do it in style. Events include the Days of the Old West Rodeo at the rodeo grounds in Hailey, a pancake breakfast, an antique fair, the Days of the Old West parade, a Riverfest celebration with music, and a spectacular fireworks show.

Free Yoga at River Run
There’s no better way to start your weekend than outdoor yoga on Saturday’s at the base of River Run in Ketchum. For the yogis, a sunrise flow at 9:00 am with Abby Siebert will get your blood flowing and awaken your senses. To ease into your day, check out Gentle Flow at 10:00 am with Katherine Pleasants.
Both classes are free and happen most Saturdays throughout the summer. Bring your mat and water.
San Francisco Ballet at the Pavilion
Experience world-class ballet in one of the most beautiful outdoor venues in the west when the San Francisco Ballet returns to the Pavilion on July 5 and 7.
The Ballet will perform two different programs: mixed repertory on July 5, and a selection of works from San Francisco Ballet’s UnBound Festival of New Works on July 7. Limited tickets are still available.
Ketch’em Alive
Ketch’em Alive is a free concert series that happens every Tuesday in the summer at Forest Service Park. These free events are some of the most popular in town, so be sure to arrive early! Bring your lawn chair or blanket, and get ready to dance. Picnics are welcome, and there are food and beverage vendors available on-site.
Tour de Force
From July 25-27, Sun Valley is all about the cars. From classics to muscle cars to supercars, the Tour de Force brings in car lovers from around the world for a leisurely drive through the Idaho mountains, followed by a no-speed-limit event on Highway 75 north of Ketchum. Supercars like McLaren P1’s and Bugatti Veyrons fly down the highway at speeds up to 235 miles per hour, while spectators watch safely from the sidelines.
If you only do one event during the Tour de Force, check out the car show on Friday night at Ketchum Town Square. Thousands of people flood the streets to check out the 200+ cars on display. It’s free!
